ESPN Releases Beta Redesign (Review)

ESPN.com just released the beta version of their new redesign (http://beta.espn.go.com/) and unlike their past redesigns, it affects index pages across the board and actually adds value to the website by cleaning up the interface. To my surprise, someone finally decided to take out content instead of adding, adopting the "less is more" approach.

After giving it a test run for the past few days, I have the following observations to share:

2008 Silver W3 Award Winner!

I just found out that I won a Silver W3 Award for Best Website 2008. Yay! The award was for the WWE SummerSlam Microsite I art directed and developed during the summer. Much thanks to Alan Chappell who did the designs and intro videos and Mark Keys for submitting the website for the award. For more information on the award, click here.

Google's G1 Phone Announcement: So what's the deal?

Yesterday, Google and T-Mobile unveiled perhaps their answer to the iPhone at a price point of $179. (read article) Many are calling it the "Google Phone". However the main component is not the phone or hardware itself, but rather Google's open source software that the phone runs on, called "Android". And the first phone to run Android will be a Taiwan manufactured unit - the "G1" (see photo)...
